New Zealand Veterans Band

new pictures from Lieve Bierque, she's our consul in Christchurch

Those members of the New Zealand Veterans Band are ready to come to Europe.
They had (this morning at 4 AM Belgium time) a concert in  Papanui, near Christchurch.

John H. Gray, the author of 'From the Uttermost ends of the Earth" reported:
"They were most impressive musically and their marching would have done justice to men much younger. I know that they will give a very good impression of New Zealand.
The thought of it makes me proud to be a New Zealander
."

This evening they start their journey first to Singapore where other members of the band will join them and where they will rehearse the concert. On Sunday they are leaving Singapore for Amsterdam and they will be here at Monday afternoon.

On Tuesday morning they will do a tour, in the afternoon they will rehearse again.
On Wednesday - ANZAC DAY  - they will perform at the Dawn Service in Zonnebeke/Passchendaele but also in Messines and in Ypres.

On Thursday they are doing a battlefield tour in Flanders and on Friday in France.

Friday evening there is a Farewell Concert in Zonnebeke Church at 7 PM. This is free but please , if you come, make a reservation at toerisme@Zonnebeke.be because the available space is limited.
